Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges-Spring Convention- Moses Lake, WA

June 24-25, 2012

GISS staff conducted training and planning sessions at the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges -Spring Convention at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Washington. A total of 104 new and returning trustees participated in pre-conference and concurrent sessions on the GISS at the request of the State Board Association for Community and Technical Colleges in Washington. The goal of the sessions was to ensure that new trustees are equipped with the methodologies and tools to continue their college’s efforts on completion and student success, and to be prepared for the GISS-Washington 2012.

Trustees and presidents from all 31 community and technical college districts in Washington, along with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC), participated in the Governance Institute for Student Success-Washington. This groundbreaking initiative promotes student success and college completion by focusing on effective governance policies. The Washington institute was the second offered by ACCT and CCLP, after a successful launch last year in Ohio.
